Lucien (Lou) Smith, is a seasoned Entrepreneur, Investor, and Visionary who is passionate about building the businesses of entrepreneurs. Born and raised in Washington, D.C., his knack for helping others to achieve began early on and it has stayed with him ever since. He is a motivator and an inspirational leader.
With more than 20 years of experience as an operational and sales professional, Lou has helped businesses of all shapes and sizes achieve their goals, even building multiple companies from the ground up.
Over the course of his career, Lou has helped small companies gain access to over $50 million in capital. He’s purchased and turned over distressed brick-and-mortar businesses, selling them at a greater profit later on. He has also served in technical advisory positions, including as a Business Advisor for a SBA Small Business Development Center, a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Certification Specialist for the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority, a Small Business Advisor and Director of Small Business Markets for the Washington Area Community Investment Fund. Lou has even taken his expertise to the Maryland House of Delegates, acting as Business Policy Advisor for a state elected official.
Lou is the founder of Prolaundry.com, a multi-location laundromat chain. Also, he co-founded Rapid Home Cash, a real estate acquisition firm in the D.C. Metropolitan area. Additionally, he is the founder of Timestar Corporation, a company dedicated to providing entrepreneurial education and financial literacy.
When it comes to business coaching, Lou’s expertise spans the gamut, covering every area necessary to building success. He regularly offers guidance on topics such as commercial lending, entrepreneurship, leadership, goal-setting, team-building, time management, health and fitness, and mindset.
Lucien holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a Concentration in Finance and a Minor in Economics from Morehouse College.
